Biography
Irina Zahharenkova was born
23.02.76 in Kaliningrad, Russia.
1991–95 studied at Tallinn Georg Ots Music College in Estonia (Prof Mare
Ots), 1995–2000 – at Estonian Academy of Music (piano: Prof Lilian
Semper; harpsichord: Prof Maris Valk-Falk).
In
2003 obtained master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music (piano: Prof L Semper) and
is currently to continuing doctor-studies with the same professor. Since
2002 student at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland (Prof Hui-Ying
Liu-Tawaststjerna). Has participated in numerous workshops, among
others: S Kovachevich, A Hewitt, A Schiff, V Merzhanov, H Dreyfus, P
Hantai.

in 1976, is the tenth woman that wins this competition and the first
Estonian who does it. /.../ The Jury of the competition, under the
chairmanship of Guillermo González, has awarded her with the first prize
because of her performance of Chopin’s Concierto número 1 en mi menor,
Opus 11. This first prize consists on € 18,000, a three concerts
tour in Andalusia, and a gold medal. The Estonian pianist has also

Irina Zahharenkova sooloõhtu tegi erakordsuseks see, et ta suutis
õhtu jooksul pakkuda kõrgtasemel esinemist kolmel erineval klahvpillil –
klavessiinil, haamerklaveril ja tänapäevasel kontsertklaveril. /.../
Haydni võluvalt lühike Sonaat G-duur kõlas koguni kolm korda – kõikidel

- Irina Zahharenkova äratas laiemat tähelepanu kuuendal Eesti
pianistide konkursil aastal 2002, saades diplomi, kuid võites paljude
kuulajate ülima poolehoiu. Virtuoosse “konkursipianismi” seest tõusis
Zahharenkova tol korral esile plastilise meloodiakujunduse ja väga

klaverimängu preemiatega pärjatud pianist... On tähelepanuväärne, et
Zahharenkova mängis poolteist tundi puhkepausideta ja tema esituses ei
ilmnenud peaaegu mingeid väsimuse märke – variatsioonid kõlasid

Kui kontserdile minnes oligi mõningaid kõhklusi,
kuidas klaver soolopillina kirikus kõlab, siis alates selle esimestest
helidest olid need täielikult kadunud. Tipphetki võib olla mitmesuguseid.
See siin oli sellel festivalil kindlasti üks kõige sügavamaid elamusi,
vaatamata sellele, et Tartu Ülikooli aulast kohale toodud klaveri
