Born in Rapla, Estonia, 1961

1984 graduated from the University of Tartu, majoring in the English language and literature; postgraduate courses: Moscow Academy of Foreign Trade, 1987; airline handling co-ordinator and tarification, 1990–95; IATA advanced marketing, 1998.

Professional career: 1984–88 Estonian Ministry of Agriculture, specialist of foreign trade; 1988–89 Estonian Academy of Sciences, research fellow in psycholinguistics; 1989–96 SAS Tallinn, Riga, St Petersburg, New Delhi; 1997–2000 Carslon Wagonlit Travel Agency K, chairman of the board; since 2001 the executive director of Estonian Record Productions (ERP) and a member of the board of ERP Extra; since 2002 managing director of the festivals Orient and Glasperlenspiel.

Being a travel professional and having extensively visited many regions and countries over the world has written a number of articles about respective travel and culture, held lectures and arranged travels and pilgrimages to the countries of Asia (including Silk Road Tour 2007). Co-author of the book Search For The Soul Of Asia, 2000.
