We in Estonian Record Productions are always trying to figure out the best approach on how to conduct our activities bearing in mind the utmost importance of preserving our environment. We really truly honour it, and cannot think otherwise in our conduct. At every chance we aspire to minimize any kind of irresponsible wasting, try to avoid unneeded consumerism, be as efficient as our capabilities allow us to be. Now why is that? We are motivated by our own beliefs that we have inherited and then developed during our lifetimes. Yet we are happy to see that we are not alone, the presence of so many alike-thinking people gives us hope. So we are happy and proud to say that our way of conduct and the principles of Tartu 2024 keskkonnastrateegia seem to meet eye-to-eye. It is not an obligation to us, it is something that we see as the only reasonable way.
We do have some recommendations though, that You as a guest can follow::
1. If You’re an Estonian, perhaps try avoiding driving to Tartu by a car all by yourself. Either gather a group of friends and have a roadtrip together, or use our exceptionally great public transport system. If You’re a foreigner, You probably landed in Talllinn (or maybe Riga?). You can get a cheap and by any comparison a really high-tech bus from the airport to our festival city. There are no larger towns or cities that You cannot commute to Tartu from using the public transport system. The train and bus network (feel free to click on the links to reach the best local operators) should help You out. Let’s be honest here, using public transport is really as if someone just gifted You time. The most precious resource. Why would You want to spend that time driving a car? That goes especially to local people. Couldn’t stress the environmental factor, minimizing one’s impact. Anyway, if You manage to share a car with friends, it would be something to do. If not, we do our part when we can, so one should not worry. We help out as we can. Meet You at the festival! Let the music be alive and unite us! 
2. If possible, try to use Your smartphone to present Your ticket. Our ticket-checkers love QR-codes and smartphones. Let’s not waste paper 🙂
3. Try not to produce any unavoidable waste. Those that are really unavoidable, try to vput them in the correct recycling bin. We have given up on using single-use, or even compostable cutlery, cups, plates etc. We either do rent reusable items from our local Estonian recycling system, or use classic ceramic itemry, that we wash and reuse as normal. It is up to all of us to keep the system livable for our children.
4. Well, tell it all to others. If at least one of them is willing to listen, we’re one step closer.
