The collective like Post Tenebras Flûtes is not so easily found in the music world – this unique ensemble, consisting of 12–18 flute players, was initiated by Estonian-Swiss flautist Maarika Järvi in the autumn of 2019. Most of the members come from Switzerland and France. These professional and enthusiastic musicians are especially passionate about performing contemporary music. In addition, the ensemble is often blurring borders between different genres and epochs: its programmes contain for example music with jazz elements as well as arrangements of the works from the Baroque era (for example, Le quattro stagioni by Antonio Vivaldi). Among others, music by Arvo Pärt (Summa and Da pacem Domine) can be heard during the ensemble’s concert at the Glasperlenspiel Festival.
