For me, Bach’s works for solo violin are sacred scriptures (scriptura sacra), and playing them is like reading the Thora and the Gospels. (Andres Mustonen)
There are no puritanical-perfectionist aspirations on this recording, on the contrary, two and a half hours of music has been recorded “almost live” in just three days, with only a few corrections made later. In English, the terms Live and Life have only a tiny difference, the difference between this recording and real Life is just as small. (Peeter Vähi)
